Your body takes the brunt of daily stressors, and trips to the spa can help alleviate this impact. From pedicures to facials, there are plenty of ways to treat yourself. But few treatments get to the route of your body’s tension like a trusty massage. While you may not realize it, your body is likely sending you signals that it’s time to slow down and make an appointment for a massage as soon as possible. Look for these simple signals, then book your massage today.

  1. You are in pain
Aches and pains are often a result of tension in the body.
A recent survey found that 92% of massage recipients found the treatment effective in pain reduction. Your massage therapist can work on certain muscle groups and release tension as much as possible.
  2. Your are experiencing excess stress
Stressed at work? You are likely holding this stress in your body. And if you don’t release it, this tension can potentially become dangerous. Especially for those with stressful jobs, regular massages can make a world of difference in your stress levels.
  3. You work at a desk job
Sedentary jobs can be harmful to your body, since your muscles sit without movement. A massage can stimulate circulation, work out tension, and ease your mind. Paired with other wellness techniques, massage can effectively combat the impacts of a desk job.
  4. You’re changing up your fitness routine
A new fitness regimen or class generally comes with some soreness, and massage can help your muscles heal. By including massage in your wellness practice, you can take a more holistic approach to your workouts.
  5. It’s been a while since your last massage
If it’s been a year since you last visited a spa, or you have never had a massage at all, now is the time to book an appointment. Massage can give you a much-needed wellness boost and keep you in tune with yourself.

When you go to your first massage appointment, talk to your massage therapist about how this treatment can help improve your well being. Then you can form a schedule that fits your needs. By doing so, you can make a commitment to your overall wellness.

  1. It was nice to know that a massage is a good way to release the tension level within the body and allow the person to be free from stress. My sister seemed to be a lot more stressed now than she did when she started her job, and I want to help her out. I will ask her to give massage therapy a try. After all, she prefers something relaxing as mean of detoxifying herself.
